The recent discussions over Turkey's entry into European Unionhave shown that the country's lack of overseas publicity constitutes a majorbarrier for its bid to join the community. While Turkish governments andNGOs have been working hard to improve country's overseas image,millions of dollars are being spent on lobbying and advertising towardsthe realization of this aim. Local universities, on the other hand, haveembarked on serious studies to generate the positive publicity Turkey sorichly deserves.
