This book is a summary of my various books written in searchof an unconventional economics. They are all a product of mystrenous and obstinate efforts going back to the midTO's to showthat there are important gaps in contemporary economics, andthey should be remedied.
This book is the last one of a series of books I have written since 1978 todevelop an unconventional theory of growth suggested by the Turkish experience.The number of those books are around 40, half of which is in English and theother half in Turkish.

This book is not written in order to report previous writings on theeconomics of developing countries. Nor is it an application of wellknown principles of economics to the economy of Turkey, whichconstitutes the reference point of all explications contained in it.As a result, it is different from most books of its kind.
The first two chapters of this book contain theoretical reasoningapplicable in every developing country which has certain characteristics.The theory developed in the first chapters is verifiedby the recent Turkish experience as explained in the last twochapters. This theory was suggested by observations made inTurkey.
